May 27, 2020 – Highway 31A

One of my favorite drives is around the Slocan Valley and on this particular trip I was originally planning to check out a waterfall up past Nakusp. On my return trip I figured there was enough daylight left to quickly head up Highway 31A

My First Anamorphic Test – Kowa 16-S

My First Anamorphic Test – Kowa 16-S

I was bored and took my video gear out to the park. This is the Kowa 16-S anamorphic lens attached to an older Nikkor 50mm f/2 and adapted to the Panasonic GH5. All shot handheld at 24p. The GH5’s IBIS does make the vignetting worse

November 14, 2019 – CRX Night Photography

This was mostly just a night cruise before all the roads freeze. I took my CRX up the highway a little past Sicamous for fun, stopping at this particular stretch of the Trans Canada Hwy that has a smaller road running parallel. For this shot

November 5, 2019 – Barnes Lake

This is a location I recently found while poking around maps and street view. The location is not far from Ashcroft, BC and I timed my arrival for around sunset. The “recreation site” I took this from is basically a single campsite on the side

Old Rail Bridge – Highway 97

Old Rail Bridge – Highway 97

I was headed north on Highway 97 to Chasm and I noticed this rail bridge over an old stretch of road. Wanted to get a closer look as it seemed odd for part of a road to just be sitting there going nowhere. Had to

September 11, 2019 – Nancy Greene Lake

I decided to do a later than normal departure from Kelowna to try getting some evening photos. This is Nancy Greene Lake on the way to Castlegar. This is at the beach only a few steps away from the main parking lot. Used the Sigma

August 30, 2019 – Skagit River Trail

This is a trail I had originally planned on checking out in 2018 but Skagit Valley Provincial Park was apparently mostly closed due to fires. This trail starts at the Sumallo Grove parking area in Manning Park off Highway 3. I believe once you cross

This is one of my early practice shots when I first bought my Nikon D7200. I like the look of this photo but I don’t consider it to be anything special. Seems like the kind of photo you’d find as a computer desktop picture. This

August 14, 2019 – Manning Park

I parked my car at the Monument 78/83 trailhead parking lot sometime after 6:30PM and headed down the trail a short way until coming across the Similkameen River bridge. I was hoping to capture some long exposure shots of the water but nothing turned out
