Oct 1 – Seven Summits Trail Area
Seven Summits Trail is a very long hike which starts at a parking lot on the side of BC Highway 3B close to Rossland. It is a one way trail and I believe around 25km long so I wasn’t planning on spending that much time on it, but figured I would go a little ways just for fun. It starts in kind of like an old growth area but as you continue upward you pass through an area which was logged in the past so the trees are pretty small. I believe it follows closely with a cross country skiing trail as there are some ski cabins along the way. The previous photo I posted of Highway 3B was taken from the Eagle’s Nest ski cabin. I only spent a few hours checking it out but the portion I was on didn’t seem overly difficult, and mountain biking seemed like a popular choice up there too.
